On November 2, 2003 MyTurnNow (your servant Raoul Duke), Chinasyndrome, Hamish, Sunaru, Minhang Oz, and Steiner- disgruntled current, former, or strobing denizens of a certain ESL Cafe- decided they'd had enough of the censorship, management by whim, constant obnoxious trolls, and other flaws they were encountering there.

Together they created the forum you see now: a China-based, hassle-free place where you can kick back, speak freely, relax, have fun, and relate to other expat teachers from Harbin to Lhasa. If you're new to China or on your way or just thinking of coming here, you can ask any question you want and find both many combined years of experience here, and a willingness to help you, sitting at our tables or back behind the bar. Why, you can even dance, chase babes, or grab your beer bottle and go upside someone's head with it, as long as you do it in a tasteful and entertaining manner and of course pay for any damage you cause.

Over time, Sunaru and Chinasyndrome chose to move on. New blood and new talent came in the form of Lotus Eater and Nate M. Throughout it all we've managed to get weirder and explore new frontiers of inebriation, and grow in terms of membership, post traffic, and services.

This place was created for us...and for you. Where it goes next is up to us all!
