Sallie and I just got back from Shijiazhuang, capitol city of Hebei, where we were over fed and under praised. However, we did receive "the highest honor the province can bestow upon a Foreign Expert!" Put that in your pipes and smoke it you peasants! This was just one of many dishes at one of several festive huge meals, the last being attended by half a dozen PLA full generals. As they and the Governor were present, the place crawled with security people who were hard of hearing.

It was Sjijiazhuang, not Xi'an) How were the Australian scallops???...and did you join Buddha in jumping over the wall...with Filamentous Fungi?? What caused the cake to go pear-shaped???

I noticed that the cockroaches in Hebei are huge! It looks like a lobster! (More like an Australian saltwater crayfish, although it isn't)! and served with moon cake, yum-oh.
I love this country. Even people like Hamish are respected.

Okay, okay, I'll bite. The guy on the right is Hu Jin Tao and the guy on the left is,... um, I'm not certain, but I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that it's George Dubya Bush.
By the way, which twin uses hair dye?

Dr. G, "Pu Yi?" Is this an idiom? Am I showing my naivete?

Pu Yi, The Last Emperor, was also set up as a Japanese puppet in Manchukuo [Manchuria]. I believe he spent his last days as a gardener in The Forbidden City or similar, showing the same wicked sense of CCP irony that put Muslims to work in pig farms during the Cultural Revolution. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Pu_YiIt is widely believed that Pu Yi credited one Hamish McJames, his English teacher, with dragging Chinese education kicking and screaming into the 19th Century, where it remains to this day.

You foreigners and your fancy-schmancy access to Wikipedia. Show off! As for you, Hamish lad, if it must be so then I will reluctantly accept your challenge. Jellyfish heads at 20 paces.

Hamish McJames was also Pu yin's personal pilot. Here, in a photo until this moment known only to our family and the Japanese, is McJames himself waiting for the Emporer to board the Emperial DC 3. Jellyfish it is you Rat Bastard!

There is always some asshole around who, being genetically limited, cannot contribute to the ethereal humor, argument, and/or aesthetic of the goings on and resorts, therefor, to spell checking and grammar as her/his addition to the background noise.
