I like vegemite with cheese myself.
Haven't tried it with tomatoes, would you beleive?
But then, there isn't a way of toasting here, although nice french sticks are easily available. Heh. Found cracked black pepper for tomatoes, though, but butter is proving hard to find.

You haven't got a toaster? I've found a good unsweetened sliced white. in the school supermarket and down the hill at Ai jia.. it's not great but when venturing further into the city centre I buy a French crusty loaf... it's expensive but I just have to have it. It's the loaf from Watson's. Once you taste toast vegemite and sliced tomatoes you'll never look back.

but butter is proving hard to find. It's here but damned expensive. And sometimes it's rancid.

Bread here still sux.
Roast beef on pumpernickle, swiss or Monterey jack, horseradish, yellow mustard, maybe a sour pickle.
Why did I just do that to myself?

Girlie confirms that butter often is rancid. Bread, 2 rmb for a french stick, good stuff.

Black Miso is a good substitute. I hold steady on this one vegemite is a health food. May they never change the label
