hope you're not mistaking that for 'rhythm', cause you ain't got none... who's this Victoria chick that y'all are so afraid of waking up with? 'member what I said, if you've been drinkin': "You'll go to bed at 2 with a 10, but wake up tomorrow at 10 with a 2" but not quite as good as the "Republic 'o Tejas!" Ride 'em, Cowboy! and for the ladies, Ride 'im, Cowgirl! Yippee ki yay!

Nothing wrong with Victoria, you heathen....better than all the other States put together! The states ARE all put together. This is a continent. Only Tasmania is incontinent. PS GG, did you know Victoria is bigger than Texas?

well, I think Victoria has less Texans in it. That is a good start, yes? More Mexicans, though.

First book I remember reading for myself was about China, then studied Asian History plus Comparative Religions in my first degree, plus Japanese (they didn't offer Chinese then).
Nasty (on his side) divorce, plus adult children leaving me with limited family responsibilites, plus a massive workload that I completed after a really long haul, and needed a break before I started the next major project. Been on a one month tour of China for my first overseas trip (unless you count Tasmania and the Torres Strait)and realised that had only scratched the tourist surface. Made really good friends with the tour guide - we frequently ran away from the tour group and did non-tourist things.
So the chance was there and I leapt at it. One year's leave without pay has now been stretched to 3! Not certain if I can sweet-talk my boss into more - but I sure would love to.

Not surprising. EVERYWHERE dwarfs Texas....in one way or another.

So, chaps are what the english call blokes, right? And these kilted texans, they wear them under their skirts, right?
Think I prefer the Inuit, or the Mounties, or pretty much anything else, including many virulent illnesses.

not something to be proud of...guys dressed in red, riding horses trying to fight crime. we have something called the 'automobile' that lets you chase down criminals much faster...and if they do happen to go into the woods, we have SUV's and ATV's that are again, much faster...plus, our cop uniforms are much nicer than the 'throwback' to the Revolutionary War "Redcoats." How imperial of youse. although, I must say that the 'Dudley Dooright' cartoon was pretty funny...chasing down the Dastardly villian, saving the girl tied to the train tracks (that happens everyday, right?), and riding his trusty mount backwards most of the time...very well written cartoon, I must say!

That's the dress uniform. They don't wear it to work. And guess what? They figured out a horse couldn't chase down a fleeing car and switched over to automobiles. The full regalia stands with the same class as the British beefeater and the American...
um...
Fill in the blank, Seppo. And don't feed us the Texas Rangers... the Lone Ranger had the sense to blow them off, take an Apache lover and go solo.

There is a great short story by Mike Resnick about how Tonto was actually Jewish, since the Indians are one of the lost tribe of Isreal, and stuff. Really lots of fun. Tonto had to knock out the Lone Ranger and circumcize him to save his life, but there was a question as to whether or not it was according to the religious laws.
Such chutzpah! What a meshugeneh! Those goyim, what would they know? Other words I don't know the meaning of as appropriate.
