However, the two biggest killers of expats is traffic accidents (cause we expect rules) and heart attacks (cause a lot are old).

Sure. But definitely shouldn't take unnecessary chances with the other ways to go. Typhoid definitely sucks...

Hep B would suck too. My immunity levels were low when I got back to the U.K. There must have been a reason for that. Maybe the boosters here were not so good or maybe I just...well... those stupid things us guys do when we've had a few lagertops. Idiots like me anyway. Diptheria is another one you should probably get. Might be a good idea to bring som malaria tablets too.

There has been a recent outbreak (with I think from memory maybe half a dozen - dozen deaths out of I don't know how many infections) of encephalitis B is both Shaanxi and Shanxi - not areas well known for mosquito borne diseases, so if you are heading to those areas that have more of the charming 'wenzi' for longer should consider these vaccinations as well.
Getting ill really ruins a great adventure - especially if it is fatal.

Even better...check the travel clinic or the Links page resources and get ALL the recommended immunizations. If I remember right you don't necessarily have to get malaria prevention if you're always staying in Guangzhou or Shenzhen or Hong Kong. But please get the official facts and follow their advice. Ilunga is spot on...Hepatitis is also no fun, and your immune system will get a lot of challenges here. If you eat in a restaurant (not just street food), eat ANY freshwater fish or shellfish, get medical treatment, or many other seemingly innocuous things, you're exposing yourself to a risk of hepatitis. I rant about this stuff a lot, I know, because I know how nasty these diseases are...and because I see so many foreigners here thumbing their noses at any idea of protection. PLEASE don't do this! Let 'em brag about stupidity over at that other forum. Get yourself safe and keep yourself that way. Brag about that, if you want to.

Home Club, Lotus Super Centre and Ren Ren Le have them here - including the pants/skirt hangers that have sliding pegs to hold all widths of skirt/pants. Wood and metal or plastic, your choice of lovely pink, mushy green, baby blue, calf yellow. Check in the laundry section.

Er, I can get cheap clothes hangers, high quality wood, suitable for luxury hotels or garment industries, container loads at a time if anyone wants them. Shipping via HK can get fumigated there cheaper for countries requiring this certificate.
Haven't found a use for the contact though.
