Shaolin isn't far from Zhengzhou in Henan. It is fun to visit - the temple itself is interesting, the scenery is also worth photographing (OK maybe that's my criterion!) and then there is the fun of the show and watching hundreds of people train. You weren't that far away when you went to Luoyang.
I have an influx of relatives and visitors starting in 2 weeks, and lasting as far as I can work out until September, and then starting again around Christmas. Not certain when and how long each group will arrive and stay. One of the joys of living in an exotic country. So my summer plans are very dependent on others.

We did go to the temple while we were there. But unfortuanly all the students were sent home due to SARS, so didn't get to see them training. I'm into kung fu, so that sucked . That's why we went there, to see the students.
