I have a grandaughter and I've kept a diary for her. My little blossom will be two years old this August.
She's the dead spit of me at her age except she has height. She'll be six foot by the time she's twenty. She's a true little princess so I don't have to worry about her other than understanding when she's older why her other grannie chose to live in China. Although this will not be a problem. She's a global baby. Her daddy's just completed his MBA from Cambridge.
No babysitting. Perfect.

hey Jollyjunklass.
I'm surprised you remember what you looked like 7 minutes after you were born.
But for all that, they're great photos, and something to cherish; they grow up so durned fast tho.

On the name, Steins. I have students named Madison amd Madeleine, who both prefer the "Maddie" contraction. Maddie Prior of 70s-80-s English folk rock band Steeleye Span was a favorite of mine. Enjoy parenthood. Female teenage-hood needs to be experienced: once only is best.

I also have a Madison, a niece. Maddie. My dumplin' nieces -- Macy, Maddie, Maggie, and Molly. juicy granddaughter Margie (hard G, made that mistake once and only once) whose mother is Meli (for melissa) -- two children (margie and maggie) both named after the same hallowed aunt Margaret. Don't know, it just started and before you know it we have a crop of M-girls. A formidable lot, too.

Steiner - Madeleine's eyes are ENORMOUS and gorgeous. When I saw the picture of her sitting in her play frame I thought, "mosquito tent", then I realized it was a play frame. Tells you what's dominating my life these days - damn wenzi... That's me trying to smack them.

Acjade and Lotus, I know I am biased toward Madeleine, but this baby really was pretty hideous. My wife confirmed it and a couple friends who don't have kids confirmed it. It was acclaimed as an ugly baby by all present. I wish we'd taken a picture for proof, but we didn't.

where I worked once a guy told us his brothers wife just had a child and he couldn't look at it, it was so ugly, we gave him hell until he bought a photo to work. One of the other guys had a picture of a baby Orangutan and they pinned them up side by side, the orang looked better. Amazingly the kid grew into a beauty, but she won't be showing too many baby pics when she gets older.

This is not the baby I was earlier referring to; it is a different baby, a friend's nephew. Maybe I should start an ugly/cute poll in its own thread:

Steiner, I'm pretty sure this campus computer is seconds from locking me out of the terminal for viewing illicit pictures. Wow, the baby is... something!
And late congrats on the little one, don't forget the cling free sheets next time.

Nope..that baby is butt ugly. Then again..all babies are a litlte ugly.Squirming masses of unformed flesh..most of the babies I've seen look like shaved chimps.
But Madeleine is turning into a beauty...no thanks to Steiner. ;D
BTW Steiner..did you know Madeline(or any variation thereof) is in the top 10 of most popular baby names for last year?
I've been spending a lot of time at baby name sights.Last year 286 Americans named their kid.."Baby".And I thought Chinese people lacked imagination...

I didn't know that, Decurso. Doing our bit for it. It was one of the few that both Julie and I could agree on. We're not famous enough to make up our own names for a kid, so Madeleine it is.

Here's Madeleine just before her monthly bath: I Know I know! I might be making a big cake of myself by doing so, however I fell apropriat and necessary to share this with the populace and not to send “cheap” SM to this patron… Hello! here I go! Steiner? What in this world is wrong with you? We were not all born to be parents, educators, or psychologists, and in your case I am afraid but you are way out of the “picture…” I am REALLY disturbed by this persisting idea, which consist in taking an innocent creature, a defenseless thing, a kid in occurrence, and to shove it into the dryer and then the washer. Whatzup with your in-laws and your better half? Are they aware of your tendency in wishing wrong to this child? You OBVIOUSLY have an issue with this new born that rocked your kingdom. Yes it has changed momy’s little sweet booty, yes it does cost money, and yes we sleep less, and yes we are doing it once a week only, and yes you are not in the center of attention anymore, and that is part of being a parent, a father… Not a whacker… Why blaming the child? What is next loony? The neighbor’s BBQ? Grandma’s microwave? I hope that this little girl would never locked herself into one of those things, or perhaps much more horrible, fry her little brother into the oven… after all [glow=red,2,300]Daddy was doing it…!!!!![/glow] Child endangerment is punishable by law in many countries… How dare! No more drink for this guy!

When does the madness stop? I want those pics to be removed and the perpetuator to destroy them! Like dah!! Those pictures are 'cute' pictures taken as a photo opportunity. Come-on don't be silly, we like those pictures. He doesn't really put his daughter into the washing machine. We all know he loves his daughter - those of us who have been part of the Saloon for a long time anyhow. We went through the pregnancy, the birth and the rest with him online. We are all part of his family. If you really don't like the pictures, don't read the thread.

These are indeed merely "cute baby pictures" and I've seen a zillion others in the same vein. Steiner is an administrator of this forum, a founding member we've known for years. I know him and his wife personally. They are fine, intelligent, decent people who treasure their child and would never in any way lead her to harm.
The response posted here is way out of line and quite frankly it's the RESPONSE I find extremely disturbing. I know you're new here, but you might consider quietly getting a little background info before posting such a screed or launching a totally uninformed personal attack.
