Madeleine Diane was born on Thursday, November 10. Here are ten pictures of her and us and her squeeze thingy. Consider yourself warned. My wife, just eight minutes after giving birth: Holding Madeleine in the delivery room: A nurse combs Madeleine for lice: Madeleine the papoose: The super-handy squeeze thingy. Great for removing mucus: Madeleine rests in her papa's arms: Madeleine sleeps like me except with less drool: Madeleine doesn't really have chimp arms; her sleeves are just long: I think our daughter is pretty cute: The family all together:

I don't know what to say.
Lotus did it better.
I'll have quite a few drinks for you though, if that will help,
which I doubt.
I'm bloody terrified. Maybe I should have started earlier.

Congratulations Steiner and Mrs. S. Madeleine is so tiny. And precious. Thanks for sharing what was undoubtedly the best day of your life.
Just a thought: do you think those squeeze thingys would catch on in China? Tissues haven't exactly revolutionized the country.

Damn beautiful. Congratulations, you two. PS: Nobby, I'll likely be just as (Perfectly understandable attempt by Raoul to evade the robo language cop - unfairly picked on, ain't he?)-scared when I'm in position to have one.

Awwww! What a sweetie!
Congrats indeed, Steiner!
Uh, can lice be transmitted through the placenta or somethin'?
And as one who knows: the squeeze thingys can be bought in China too. Utterly useless once the kid gets old enough to fight back a bit.

I was thinking for the adults. Sort of a 'keep the streets clean' campaign.

Congratulations guys,
I can tell you, I sure didn't look like your wife 7 minutes after my birth. I looked like a hurricane hit me. She is looking pretty lovely after that experience, can't say I understand. Maybe I did something wrong.

Here's a picture of Madeleine, one month old: She's in the 50th percentile for weight, 95th percentile for height, and 25th percentile for head circumference. So she's tall and skinny with a tiny head.

I have to agree with George on this one - although without the heavy spitting from the German. A nice soft intelligible Australian accent with soothe her for you. But Steiner - definitely leading with your chin there mate. I will firmly resist!! But it's tempting!

Maddie's over two months old now. Sleeps anywhere from seven to nine hours a night. Turns out the nurse who measured her height last time marked her head and then pulled her leg straight to mark her foot, but in doing so she added an inch to her height. So she's not a freak of nature after all.
