(In my defence - Raoul asked for more!) While my sister was here we visited quite a few places. I took them out to see my friend the nong ming hua (farmer painter) and as with everytime I go out there, they gathered all the local musos and gave us a show - this time traditional Shaanxi folksongs, plus a Qin Opera. A couple of the musicians Having a chat between songs State of the art kitchen - look further below to see the number of people catered for on this stove. Food preparation Clean up time anyone? Relaxing after lunch The gangs all here - group photo time. Spot the laowai. Before we caught the bus back into town, they took us to the local temple and had it opened for us. Sunday markets in the muslim Quarter - Xi'an - doing the deal. Night markets - Lanzhou Lanzhou night markets - putting that final BBQ'd touch to the pork trotters - with a small flame thrower. Beijing - even the railings are important?? It was a good trip.
