Off to a flying start with the Judges leading the Grand Parade.. Some of our finest!! No, fellas...these are the athletic sports!! Another School....dunno which one. This must be Presbyterian Ladies College. They're not too concerned about uniform footwear....or marching!! The Opening Ceremony Spectacular. The Tai Chi crowd brought their own music. The Games begin!! Parents competed with their children in a relay race. Theoretically, one hand on the racquet, no holding the ball! A vast crowd was on hand to enjoy the spectacle. Well, most of us, anyway!! No wonder this was so hard to find, all those years ago.

The second to last photo: that kid is reading Ginger Meggs. And George, I promise you, university sports days are far more, erm, watchable!

That's quite the formal event you attended, George.
We went to our school's sports meet the first year we were here, but skipped it last year to go to Suzhou and this year to go to Tianjin. Our presence isn't necessary, thankfully.

Our presences weren't necessary, either, but we were "invited" to attend!! So we did........for an hour or so.
