Anyone heard of this outfit? www.tefl.com/jobs/job.html?jo_id=15110It all sounds pretty professional, but I haven't heard anything about them. It's a university foundation programme involving several UK Uni's....something that Raoul seems pretty unkeen on. Any more info from anyone would be appreciated....

My position on "foundation year" studies programs is that they must be great money spinners. I worked for one and almost worked for another. Let it be noted that neither had as professional a setup as the tefl.com blurb suggests for Tyndale.
The one I worked for said it was giving three years education in China followed by one year in America. The one year in America depended on a TOEFL score and each TOEFL attempt raked in dough for the sponsoring institution because the students paid the school for the opportunity. That sponsoring institution encouraged up to three attempts each third year.
The one I almost worked for was halfway towards being actually professional, for which they got royally screwed by their Chinese partners. As far as I know, they are still "in business" with those partners, though apparently not in business itself.
All of that said, the actual future of foreign education in China is on Chinese soil. As of this year, foreign unis can set up shop in partnership with Chinese unis and with their own campuses. The currently famous one is Nottingham Uni and its campus-in-progress here in sunny Ningbo.
And all of all of that said, I don't know anything about Tyndale. The blurb makes it sound like a fairly responsible job for a certified guy who doesn't acually want to be paid in line with the value of his qualifications. 4500 a month in Beijing and one room to live in? It's tailor-made for someone who wants a year or two in, supervised, and then out.
Or maybe they'll be reasonable about salary, and then it would sound like a nice little job where some decent, recognised teaching could be done.
But don't be fooled: I don't actually know what I'm talking about.

If the materials and staff are good it might be OK. A big if I guess...I thought I would learn something at my last job with it's Sino--Canada program but it was a fiasco...
I would ask about the room---sounds like it could be dorm style which would be nasty...Salary would depend on the schedule....I should really get some sort of TESL cert---even if I buy it.. ;D
