Where do you find your new music? Not the stuff you ahve always liked and listened to but new music, music you hadn't heard before? Lucky Oceans' program on Radio National used to be good to find new stuff, here if I hear music in a DVD store I always ask what it is and have been able to tap into a Chinese music world. This way I have found groups I would never have heard of and next month will be heading to a concert for a group coming to Xi'an that I think I will enjoy. I am also following up music mentioned in books written by authors I like. I figure if they write what I like to read, they might like what I like to hear! What are your sources of NEW music?

A mate I met in a crowded street. We said hello, exchanged phone numbers and ever since he's been introducing me to his collection of music.
He copied me a disc of early barouque celtic music just this last Monday before we went out for dinner.

usually, I follow the billboard new releases and download them off bittorrent. If I like it, it stays; if I don't like it, it goes to the trash.

Believe it or not, the Public Radio station in Dallas, Texas has an amazing local music show on weekend evenings US Central time. A very, very eclectic range of music gets played, from every conceivable style. I've picked up a LOT of new names from there.

I normally listen to Melbourne radio stations online...
Gold 104, or Nova..etc...etc
I also have a look at song BMG and see what's happening there. If I want to hear a song I haven't heard for a while. I normally try and find it on Youtube.com
It's AMAZING what you find on there!!!!
