Get this: a package from home arrived for me. The postman delivered notice to my school on January 29th, where he was confronted with a notice on the front door stating that the school would be closed from the 27th through to February 12th. He slipped the noticed under the door. It said my package would be held at the local outlet until February 10thSo I got the notice yesterday. I ran down after work: the package is en route back to Canada.

So I got the notice yesterday. I ran down after work: the package is en route back to Canada. Makes me glad I listened to that "still small voice" and didnt' sent the package to my friend teaching HS in Guangdong. To have it returned for delivery issues like that would really "jerk my chain."

Mine are held for me by the university as well. There is always one person in the FAO during holidays. And the university has it's own China Post office as well. But to be fair - I think if packages aren't collected in Australia within a certain period of time they are also sent back. Holidays or no. The delivery person isn't the same as the admin person and information easily gets lost in bureaucracies all over the world.

Amazing variation of services from our schools.
Sallie I shipped some stuff to China via Fedex, one package weighed 100 pounds, and arriving here yesterday found everything had been brought up six floors and inside our apartment. All was here and packages had not been broken into.

Our package hadn't been opened. Just clearing that up, just in case george confused someone.
The above is what happens if it is addressed to Mrs N.
However, if they are addressed to me, They to to the post office across the far side of town that apparently deals with foriegners and other livestock that needs postal stuff. they will keep it for a month or so, then finally send me something to go and get it within a day or two.
Oh, I live on the wife's campus. Don't know what would happen if we sent stuff to my own.
