In the third version of the bait & switch contracts that I've received, I can't get cash rather than a plane ticket. When I first came to the school, I was advised by my handler--FAO can't speak English to save her life--that the school would give me the customary RMB8000. Now I got to figure out what ticket to order so I can do my deed, ie, get my mitts on my cash. Feedback will be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Tell the school that you bought an E-ticket. Go to the website of an e-ticketing airline that flys the route you should / would be taking. Fill out the onscreen forms. A booking confirmation code will appear and then you will be able to print out the form. Cancel the transaction when you move on to the payment by credit card page.

What about just buying a ticket to LA and then cashing it in for a round trip ticket to Thailand?

I think you lose on the cashing in - fees deducted etc, but why not try?

Ajarn's tip works well.
I did the exact same thing with the visa application for my girlfriend 2 years ago. Worked like a charm. I could get the visa with the booking form, even though it was cancelled just after having printed it.
Of course I bought a ticket afterwards anyway, but it gave me some more time to buy a cheaper one.
