Shenzhen is home to three theme parks, but what are they like? Do any of them have huge and awesome rollercoasters? Or are they simply full of no frills childrens rides?
I've heard there is a huge Russian warship that has been converted into a hotel amongst other things, so I think I'd quite like to visit that. Anyone got an idea of costs?

tidbits from my memory lane only - I wasted 3 years of my life in ugly Shenzhen and visited WINDOW OF THE WORLD several times; it is a collection of replicas of the world's most awesome architectural wonders including the Eiffel Tower, the KRemlin, the White House of Washington fame etc.; what I disliked was the mock African tribal villages that looked like Chinese nationality homes with Chinese decked out as black Africans beating drums... Another theme park was SPLENDID CHINA; that certainly was a notch better than the WOW although I found the CHinese claim to the Potala and other non-Chinese buildings a bit annoying.
There was another park in the area, also without rollercoasters - all 3 of them in the smart upmarket OVerseas Chinese Town between the Shenzhen University and the western edge of Futian District; a fourth park was SAFARIPARK a little away from Shennan Avenue; this was a zoo where they drugged tigers so Chinese little emperors could hop on the felines' back and be photographed. That park was noted for other cruelties to wildlife and repeatedly made headlines in the English-language HK media.
Rollercoasters? Don't know where, am not interested to see them. The MIRSK ship is anchored in SHatoujiao if I am well-informed; that's a township to the East. I am a little dubious as to whether it's worth investing a handful of kuais in a visit there. Shatpikoap otse;f is interesting for the fact that it's a divided town, with some district of it lying within HK jurisdiction and thus off limits to laowai!
IT's also interesting to see the contrast of the green, almost serene landscapes meeting the forerunners of a populous metropolis. Not far from Shatoujiao you can get lost in a jungle on the slopes of 944 metre high Wutongshan...
