Mate, I can successfully teach Shakespeare to Australian 15 year olds. No linguistic challenge is beyond me!

Here's some more reading for ya both: Slightly more seriously: You were...mmm....aaagh....mmmbbfflt...ungh...ack...errrk...RIGHT...aaargh!...., George. I took the "near Harbin" thing at face value.

TIFC! Never take things at face value....especially if you value face!

George - Shame on you for taking victory points which ain't yours. There are other things of more significance. That includes face.
ONE of those is the 'survival' (in a purely local sense) in China of one of our members, Solong

Epilogue to my aborted Jiagedaqi experience:
After I received the contract, I confirmed that they had really intended to lend me out to various public schools, as one of the teachers who were there had reported. I don't like the idea and they hadn't told me, although I had asked rather specific questions about _the_ school. I told them yesterday that for this reason, I wouldn't come, and they remained friendly ("I understand your feelings"). Quite possibly, it COULD have been a great experience in this little town in the mountains which is said to be surrounded by an impressive scenery (if one doesn't mind somewhat high benzene levels). After all, I didn't hear the other side's story of what happened to those teachers who went there before me. But "could" is not quite enough. So I'm confident I made the right decision and keep looking.
Greetings, Uli
