Woof. I'm really glad to see this up, Koko. Please be sure and post it at Nate's as well.

Apex Education is an Australian based company Yo, Koko. PM me if there is anything that could be accomplished in Hoganland to make life miserable interesting for these guys. I think they are an immigration agency based in Sydney. Immigration agencies in Hoganland span the whole moral spectrum.

They said / I said, they didn't / I did. Here in Guangzhou, I've been there and done that! In my case, there were no aunts involved, and I have no reason to suspect that the other side paid a bribe.
It was put to me that the public servants (the same the world over?) at the Guangzhou Foreign Experts Bureau were not being paid enough to stick their neck on the line and make a ruling in favor of either party based on oral evidence alone.
Likewise, the GFEB folk were not going to override a lawful, written contract signed by both parties when there was no written evidence to indicate that either party had agreed to any amendments.
Did you give your 30 day notice in writing? I gave my notice orally and that was a big mistake!
You will not win the dispute with Apex unless, and until, your pay them a penalty of 4,000 RMB (the amount recognized by the Foreign Experts Bureau regardless of contract wording).
Pay, get a new F.R.P. and F.E.C., AND THEN continue your battle for justice, or exit China, obtain a new 'F' visa and return to a different province. You have only these 2 choices.
Posting a warning for others is one thing but sabotaging your future by being stubborn is just plain unwise.
And please do keep us informed of all developments in this matter. I openly invite you to ridicule me on this forum if it turns out that I am wrong about your two options.

This isn't Dave's Chez Fasciste or CTF or The Altar of Talkdoc. Ridicule for being wrong isn't necessarily required.
Similarly, an attempt to keep the language moderately friendly would be greatly appreciated. We all know what the Fightin' Words are; please avoid them.

Humble apologies! I didn't realize that describing the actions of another poster as 'stupid' (quite distinct from referring to the poster as 'stupid') was unacceptable. The word 'unwise' shall now form part of my Raoul's China Expat Saloon specific vocabulary.
Oh, by the way; you omitted ESL Teachers Board in your comparisons. Sometimes life can be so confusing!
OMITTED: choice slanted exerpts from a long and nasty flame war taken with no context from another forum. I wouldn't allow anyone to do this to another member, and I won't let it happen to me, either.

Gee, Ajarn, you really think these situations are comparable? You really think Koko is a 'John'? I don't. Not even close. And you should know better...you saw what I was up against at ESLTB. Koko was not doing anything like surprise-attacking a lot of teachers he didn't even know, including posting a big heap of outright lies and distortions meant to inexplicably discredit one of my best friends...who also happens to be a long-standing member of THIS forum. I was hoping to keep this thread from erupting into the kind of nastiness that gets seen in those places...including ESLTB...before it ever got to that level. Please excuse the f*ck out of me if I did the wrong thing. Would you feel better if I replaced the words "pigheaded" and "stupid" back into your post? I lightened up two words in your post in the hopes of averting hard feelings. But Noooooo...In what I can only suppose must have been some attempt at "retaliation", you posted a long string of my words from a long and bitter flame war on another forum (which, by the way, last I saw had finally ended in relative peace), without any context whatsoever to show the kind of abuse I was responding to. What adjective do you suppose I should apply to that, Ajarn? I dunno...maybe you think these situations are comparable too. Let me add this: You've already made negative insinuations about my character, end-running a locked thread in order to do so. You've referred to another poster as being "pigheaded" and "stupid" (no matter what semantics you want to try and hide behind). And now you've taken words from another forum and posted them with no context at all in a public area of THIS forum. This behavior will come to a screeching halt, one way or another.
