I'm Australian and have been in China for a year TODAY (if today is the 1st June - too much baijui last night!). Don't know whether I shall ever get to Barfly status as I'm not a prolific poster Welcome, deezy. I'm learning to love Australians - even George. Happy Anniversary to you. A round please, Raoul. Don't worry about post COUNT; it's the QUALITY of the posts that matters. Just talk to us. Looking forward to getting to know you and sharing the China experience.

G'day Deezy, I love God's chosen race already, (especially George but only in a nice, platonic fashion. I'm sure he's relieved to hear that.) And I was a teenager in the 60s. We just gotta have a lot in common. Anyway welcome.

Welcome Deezy. I too am of God's Chosen. I also grew up in the sixties, just, mostly teens in the seventies, though.
So, Beers all around then? I think we might be outnumbering the Usanians and Canuckistanians by now. Maybe we should have a poll?

Woza and I are sopisticated, smooth, highly intelligent 'wise women' from Australia - not as George so inelegantly depicted us: Along with the other women on this forum we provide balance, beauty, and intellectual discussion at the same time as ensuring that Raoul has the place cleaned and fumigated occasionally, and that the toilet seats are kept DOWN after use. We monitor the quality of the drinks served in the Ladies Lounge - again you need to watch some of the volunteer barkeeps - they are liable to water down the drinks of their own gender in order to increase the strenght of the alcohol they serve us. (I'm not sure why, but this phenomenon has happened all my life in a huge variety of bars ) I do need to warn you however, that the men on this forum can become a little overexcited - especially about topics concerning chasing balls around various fields. George tends to lose the plot when Babe disappears, and Hairy Ass needs regular waxing. Welcome all, and enjoy the ambience we wise women provide!

Ya done a lot of work Raoul - couple of new extensions, cleaning up some of the older areas, things like that. Congrats. Sorry about poking into the newbies bit, thought I would help - I am pretty much a newbie too. Came as a shock to think of myself as intimidating.
Hope it all helps. I think they are happy mostly with their own forum, though, which is shaping up. Maybe offer an exchange program later when things settle.

Thanks, N...and no problem. ;-{) I think they are happy mostly with their own forum, though, which is shaping up. Yeah, it seems to be improving over there. But hey, the welcome mat was unfurled...whether they walk across it or not is their own call. We seem to have picked up at least a couple of folks who post well, so it was well worth it. Skimming the cream has been a successful policy for us since the beginning.

The more people that share their two bits, the more interesting the place will be.

Ok Con, how did you know about the paint thinner. I thought I was keeping my past a secret. I spent the last umpteen years as a paint process engineer. Oh well, I couldn't stop being around the thinner so now I paint (pictures (scenes etc)).
I prefer a dark flavourful beer, if you're buying!!!

Peggie - we have a nice civilized Ladies Lounge over to the right - past the bathrooms unfortunately, but the sight of some of the fellas tossing their cookies prevents the rest of them from coming into our space, so it counteracts the fact that Raoul is too mean to hire ayis more than once every two or three months. Over there we can chat in peace, without that lot laughing at our proper ladies drinks. Another Campari and soda please waiter, there's a dear boy. That's women for ya...build them something nice and all they do in return is abuse ya. Oh, well. Now that they've gone over to their little froo-froo lounge, boys, I can confide something to ya; Hamish already spilled the beans anyway: all those girlie drinks we have to mix are wrapped around a king-sized slug of tasteless grain alcohol. We likes our ladies friendly here at Raoul's China Expat Saloon. (I'd say we like 'em loose, but most of 'em showed up that way anyway...)

GG, we're recruiting now. If we can find some exotic dancers that are sufficiently exotic we'll hire 'em.
