Me (far right) and friends last Halloween, (one of the) last big horras b/f I left for China...Yes, some of you may say were too old for that hoo-ha, but we have given up the "treats" part, and now just stick to the "tricks" ;D ;D

My demo class yesterday. Should I accept a (low-paying) job at this School?

It's a nice clean classroom by the looks of things. Most of the rooms I teach in are in the sepia-toned parallel universe.

I wonder if that boy's expression in the front/left is indicative of how well your the class went ;D

Note the seven "observers" along the back wall?

Yeah. I noticed the gang at the back. Interesting body language.
The kids look like they're at least breathing and there's not a mobile phone, Ipod, MP3 or newspaper in sight. You oughtta be paying them!!

So, if she's the boss, why isn't she napping?
7 observers. I reckon I had that many once, plus the official school photographer, who liked to draw attention to himself by perching on the top step of a step ladder in the most precarious position. It was all I could do to stop teaching and watch, mesmerised, by this guy's balancing feats.
Hey, don't the Chinese say a picture is worth a thousand words (characters)? They look switched on and, IMHO, they have not yet reached the stage where they have become simply part of the great Chinese amorphous mass. (Poorly developed theory that I shall expound on at another date, when I have a few more hong putaojius under my belt.)
George, you're the best judge. Hope it works out to your's, and Babes, best.

Surely you'd rather teach here for even less pay?? Local village school just outside Xi'an.

How about the brooms to clean the school room? just after you send them all home - this is your job!

My school has brooms like those! - but I don't have to use them, the students do that sort of work.
Nice contrast, Lotus.
George, the kids look keen and interested. Not jaded or overworked yet like some of the kids I teach. Desks are new and classroom is bright and airy. I have no idea what all that has to do with how good the teaching job will be, but surroundings count for something.

Just a little something to help us situate your pics would be cool Koko, like maybe what we are looking at and where they were taken?
